Our Process

Upon agreement, we will arrive at an agreed upon time that works for you.  We're mindful of preplanned events that you may have during the Spring and Summer, graduation parties, family gatherings etc.  

For Sealcoating, we  will begin by trimming back encroaching grasses and weeds along the edge of the driveway/parking areas.  We then work on cleaning all loose debris (leaves, dirt, etc.) with brooms and blowers. When asphalt is clean, we proceed to crack-repair.

Crack repair involves cleaning out debris from the crack, and using a torch if necessary to burn stubborn vegetation and residual oils from the asphalt to enhance adhesion.  Sometimes it is necessary to refill the crack to within 1" of surface level with clean sand to prevent "sagging" of the crack-fill material.  When the cracks are ready, we'll fill them with either a cold or hot pour crack filler and level with a special squeegee tool.  Once filled, we applied a black silica sand to the surface of the still tacky crack-filler for added durability and to prevent unwanted sticking to shoes/tires on hot summer days.

With cracks (and potholes) filled we will begin the sealcoat process.  First, pavement edges and areas near concrete or landscaping are carefully cut in using brushes.  Depending upon several factors, the sealcoat will be sprayed in two-overlapping layers, hand applied by brush (1 thicker coat) or a combination of both methods.   When sealcoating is completed we will check for any areas that may need attention, clean up any of our trash and erect caution tape to deter traffic.  

If your available, we'll remind you to stay off of the new sealcoat for 24-hours as well as to turn off your sprinkler system if you have one.  With your inspection and satisfaction of the completed work payment is expected  upon completion (check or cash).

You can then enjoy the rest of your day/evening, I'll go home scrub myself clean and feed the dog.
